UPS operates in three segments: U.S. Domestic Package operations, International Package operations, and Supply Chain & Freight operations.
The delivery and tracking services go hand in hand for the smooth journey of a package.
No doubt that UPS offers authentic and reliable delivery services, but we also need a tracking tool to give us the most accurate tracking information.
Upper Route Planner is a worldwide used route planning software. It is designed with automatic route planning to help drivers with the most accurate delivery direction.
All that you need to track a package with Upper Route Planner is a tracking number. It will automatically fetch the courier details and show the end-to-end tracking update of your parcel.
A tracking number is a unique ID or code assigned to a package to find the tracking status. UPS tracking numbers for domestic packages usually start with “1Z” followed by a 16-digit number.
The UPS package can be tracked from either the UPS website or the universal tracking tool such as Upper Route Planner.
The quickest way to find your parcel is the tracking number that the seller provides. UPS generally sends the tracking number in a confirmation email or SMS on the customer number.
But, if you do not have a tracking number, you can track it on the UPS parcel tracker with a reference number or parcel ID.
You receive the UPS tracking number on your email or SMS after the order confirmation. But, if you do not find the tracking number, you can contact the sender for the details of the package.
Moreover, you can also check your parcel on the UPS website with the parcel reference number.
UPS generally delivers the parcel between 9 AM to 7 PM from Monday to Friday for the residential address. But, the parcel with the business address is delivered during business hours.
However, since UPS partners with local postal services for international deliveries. So, the delivery time may differ from country to country.
The delivery time for the international packages with UPS parcels is more than the domestic parcels. It may take several days, depending on the type of service you opt for.
For example, UPS Standard Service takes seven to fourteen days however Priority Service takes between four to eight business days.
When a delivery attempt is made, but you could not collect the parcel, UPS leaves a delivery notice stating that they have tried to deliver and will try to deliver the following business days further.
Then your parcel is taken to the closest UPS location, and it will be there for up to seven days before being returned to the sender.
If it is possible, then you can go to the UPS location and collect your parcel but make sure that you must carry a government-issued photo ID.
With Upper Route Planner, you can find where your parcel was, where it is right now and what is the estimated date of arrival. You simply need the tracking number to track a package.
You have to enter the tracking number and click on the “Track my parcel” button. The system will automatically get you all the information about the shipment.
To track shipments or search UPS parcels with Upper Route Planner follow the below steps:
There can be several reasons why your parcel is not moving. You can use the Upper Route Planner to find where your parcel was, where it is now and what the estimated arrival time will be.
But, if the status does not show any movement for longer, you can contact UPS customer service to find more details about the package.
Some tracking services do not update all the movements of the package. If you find that even after order confirmation, the status is pending, this means it is not shipped yet.
In this case, you need to wait for a few days, but if you still do not find any movement for several days, you can contact the UPS customer service team.
To track your package right from pre-shipment to successful delivery, you can use Package Tracker.
A signature is not compulsory for all UPS parcels, but it can be added for security reasons. It can prevent the delivery of packages to the wrong person and also secure sensitive and high-value items.
If there is a need to sign considering delivery confirmation, the UPS delivery driver will guide you through the form or the digital device.
If you missed the parcel delivery, UPS will leave a delivery notice mentioning they tried to deliver and will try again the next business day.
Meanwhile, as per your convenience, you can collect the parcel from the nearest UPS location within seven days as it will be returned to the sender after that.
Moreover, you can also speak to the UPS customer care team and get a different delivery date scheduled.
If you did not receive your UPS parcel even after the estimated arrival date, you can contact the customer service team. You can share the details of your parcel so that they can check from their end whether the parcel is delayed, lost, or stolen and guide you with further steps.
If you believe that your parcel is lost, you can check for the last update of the package with the package tracker.
You can get in touch with the customer service and the seller, and share the tracking update with them so that they can also check what has happened to the parcel.
A delivery notice is usually left when the first attempt to deliver or pick up the parcel is unsuccessful. The notice will help you to find insight into where your package is, what is the status of it, and how you can get it.
The various statuses of parcels are Label created, Shipped/On the way, Out for delivery, delivered, Delivered to a UPS access point, Transferred to post office for delivery, and Exception.
To know more about these statuses in detail, you can check now.
The UPS drivers usually deliver till 9 PM from Monday to Friday but it may sometimes get late during any holiday. But, if the parcel status is “out for delivery” but you did not get it so you may expect the parcel delivery on the next business day.

However, if you still do not find the parcel, you can contact the seller to start a claim for it.
