Frequently Asked Questions

  • What types of files can I import into Upper?

Upper supports the import of Excel and CSV files, allowing you to easily transfer your data into our system for route optimization. Additionally, you can connect your existing tools with Upper using API and import stops even faster.

  • How does the spreadsheet import feature ensure data accuracy?

Upper’s import tool is designed to identify and remove duplicated data, recognize custom details, and accurately convert your spreadsheet information into optimized route plans.

  • Is there a limit to the number of addresses or routes I can import?

Upper is built to handle a large volume of data and you can import unlimited spreadsheets, but up to 500 addresses in a single spreadsheet. There may be some limits depending on your subscription plan. Please refer to our pricing page for more details.

  • Will I need to format my spreadsheet in a specific way for importing?

There is no specific format needed for Excel or CSV files given the first column is not empty and the first row has column names. However, for optimal results we recommend a specific format for your spreadsheets. You can download the sample spreadsheet or read the guide for reference.

  • Can I edit or delete stops after importing my spreadsheet?

Absolutely! Upper allows you to make adjustments to stops by clicking on the three-dot menu next to the stop you want to edit or delete. You can even delete multiple stops by selecting the checkbox and clicking on the “Delete” button.

  • Can I add stops manually after I import in Upper?

Yes, Upper provides the flexibility to add stops manually to your routes. The process is simple: click on the “Add stop” button after importing the spreadsheet, fill in the necessary details, and click on “Done.” Your stop will be seamlessly added to the route.

  • What happens if there are errors in my spreadsheet data?

Upper’s import tool will identify potential errors or inconsistencies in your data and prompt you to review before finalizing the import. This review helps you identify any duplicates and inaccuracies in your data.

  • Why can’t I import a spreadsheet?

In case you are unable to import the file, you should recheck the categories and columns mentioned in your file. You should also check if you have multiple sheets in one file. Upper is only able to read one sheet in an excel/CSV file. If you are still facing difficulties while importing an Excel or CSV file, download the sample file and restructure your data as shown in the file.

  • What happens if the import function does not recognize a field from my file?

When Upper does not recognize a field from your Excel/CSV file, you can click the dropdown and select the most suitable category name for your field. When this is done, Upper will remember this selection for the next time you import a file in similar format.
